The short version
Reelary is a local-first desktop app. Your footage, images, the AI models and the search index all stay on your own machine. We never receive, upload, or store your media.
What this website collects
- Email address — to create your account (passwordless sign-in) and deliver your license key.
- Purchase records — order id, plan, and license activations (a machine identifier and an optional machine name you provide), so you can manage your seats.
- Anonymous page views — page path, referrer, country, browser, device type, and any campaign parameters in the URL. Collected by Counterscale, which we self-host on our own infrastructure at cs.reelary.app. It sets no cookies, uses no local storage, and stores no IP addresses; return visits are recognised only via a daily-resetting HTTP cache header.
That’s it. We do not run third-party advertising or behavioral tracking on this site.
Free browser tools
The tools under /tools process the file you choose inside your own browser tab. The file is never sent to us or to anyone else. To run, a tool downloads its AI model from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) and the ONNX Runtime WebAssembly files from jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net); those services receive a normal web request with your IP address, but not your file or its contents. The GIF caption tool downloads no model; its font is served from this website. Counterscale records anonymous usage events for the tools (a tool was started, finished or failed), with no file names or content.
Payments
Payments are processed by Creem, our merchant of record. Card details are handled entirely by Creem and never touch our servers. See Creem’s privacy policy for details on payment processing.
Transactional email (sign-in codes and license delivery) is sent via Resend. We only send email you ask for or that is required to complete a purchase.
The desktop app
The app contacts this server only to activate or re-validate a license key. Activation sends a license key and a machine identifier; it does not send any of your media or metadata. After activation the app verifies a signed license token offline.
Apart from that, the app makes only these requests: downloading the AI models you choose and, in the Windows and direct-download Mac versions, checking for updates, both from our download server (models.reelary.app; users in mainland China download models straight from its storage bucket on Alibaba Cloud OSS), which receives a normal web request with your IP address but no information about your library; and, while the Places map is open, loading map tiles from OpenFreeMap, which can tell which area of the map you are viewing. GPS positions, file names and footage are never sent. The app contains no analytics or telemetry.
LAN sharing is off by default. If you switch it on, the app accepts connections from browsers on your local network that enter the access code you set, and serves them search results, previews and downloads directly from your computer. None of this passes through our servers.
Your choices
You can request deletion of your account and associated purchase records at any time by emailing support@reelary.app.
