Terms of Service

Last updated: October 13, 2026

1. License

Reelary is free to download and free to use for indexing and searching your library. When you buy a Pro or Studio license, you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive license to unlock the paid features on the number of hand-activated machines included in your plan (3 for Reelary Pro, 10 for Studio). Macs unlocked through an App Store in-app purchase are governed by Apple’s terms and do not consume those seats. Both plans permit commercial use: you may use anything you create with Reelary for paid client work, monetized videos or any other commercial purpose, and you own everything you create.

2. One-time purchase & updates

Reelary is sold as a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Your purchase includes all future app updates at no extra cost; there is no renewal.

3. Activation & seats

Each license may be activated on a limited number of machines. You may move a license to a new machine by deactivating it on the old one from within the app, which frees a seat.

4. Refunds

Because Reelary is free to try with no time limit, refunds are handled case by case within 14 days of purchase. Contact support@reelary.app. Refund processing is performed by our merchant of record, Creem.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to resell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the licensing of the software. License keys are issued to you and may be revoked in cases of fraud, chargeback, abuse, or a breach of the content rules in section 7.

6. Your content

Reelary processes your media entirely on your own device. You retain all rights to your footage. We claim no ownership and have no access to it.

7. AI features and content rules

Reelary includes AI features that generate media on your device: a text-to-speech voice-over, voice cloning from a sample you provide (Pro), automatic captions, scene descriptions and one-sentence rough cuts. The models behind each feature are listed on our AI models page. You are responsible for everything you create or export with these features, and you must not use them to create, edit or distribute:

  1. Sexual or NSFW content, including pornography, sexually explicit material and non-consensual intimate imagery.
  2. Violence and gore, including content that glorifies, incites or threatens violence, terrorism, self-harm or cruelty to animals.
  3. Hate speech, including content that attacks or dehumanises people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age, and harassment or bullying of any person.
  4. Child safety violations: any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers minors (CSAM) is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the relevant authorities, including NCMEC.
  5. Deepfakes and impersonation, including cloning or imitating the voice or likeness of a real person without their explicit consent, and synthetic media intended to deceive, defraud or spread disinformation. You may only clone your own voice or a voice whose owner has given you permission.
  6. Infringement of copyright or trademarks, including media, music or brand assets you do not have the right to use, and removing watermarks or rights notices from content you do not own.

You must also comply with all laws that apply to you, and clearly disclose AI-generated or AI-altered media where the law or the platform you publish on requires it.

How we review content

Reelary runs entirely on your machine, so we do not see, upload or store the media you process. We therefore review content when it is reported to us, rather than by scanning your files. Every report is read by a person, usually within 3 business days, and handled in line with this section. Reports of child sexual abuse material are prioritised and escalated to law enforcement.

How to report misuse

If you believe content was created with Reelary in violation of these rules, or that your voice or likeness was cloned without consent, email support@reelary.app with the subject "Content report". Please include a link to or copy of the content, why you believe it breaks these rules, and your contact details. Rights holders can use the same address for copyright and trademark notices.

What happens when the rules are broken

Depending on how serious the violation is, we may issue a warning, revoke the license key involved without refund, block the purchaser from future purchases, and share information with law enforcement or the affected rights holder where the law requires or permits it. Revoked keys stop unlocking paid features after the offline grace period ends.

8. Warranty & liability

The software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reelary is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the software.
