Remove a logo, timestamp or text from your video
Remove a logo, date stamp or burned-in text from your own video. Drag a box over it, check the result on one frame, and AI fills that area on every frame of the clip, keeping the sound. Free, no upload, no watermark of our own.
Your file is read by this browser tab and never sent anywhere. The first run downloads the AI model from Hugging Face and caches it, so later runs start faster and work offline.
How it works
- You mark the area. Drag a box over the logo, stamp or text. Add more boxes if there is more than one mark.
- The model fills it. MI-GAN, an inpainting model from Picsart AI Research, looks at the pixels around each box and paints in what is most likely behind it.
- Every frame, same place. The same boxes are filled on every frame of the part you choose, and the browser re-encodes the video with the original sound.
Tips for a clean fill
- Keep the box tight but cover the whole mark, including any shadow or glow around the text. Small boxes fill much more convincingly than large ones.
- Preview a few moments, especially where the background behind the mark changes, before processing the whole clip.
- Crop instead when the mark sits right at the edge and losing a few percent of the frame does not matter. Cropping is always cleaner than filling.
What this is for
It is meant for marks in footage you own or have the rights to edit: the logo of a channel you renamed, the date your old camcorder burned into every frame, a caption you need to replace, or a notification that popped up in a screen recording. It is not a tool for taking watermarks off other people's videos or unlicensed stock previews.
When the desktop app is the better tool
The Reelary desktop app has the same eraser in its editor, on top of what the browser cannot do: it indexes every video and photo on your drives, finds shots by describing them, and assembles them into a cut you can export as an MP4 or as a timeline for Premiere, Final Cut or DaVinci Resolve.
The desktop app has the same eraser built into its editor, for clips you find by searching your whole library. Reelary is free to download for Mac and Windows; indexing and search have no file limit.
Questions
How do I remove a logo or date stamp from my video?
Drop your video into the tool above, pause on a frame where the mark is visible and drag a box over it. Press Preview frame to check the fill, then Remove from video. Every frame is filled in the marked area and you download an MP4 with the original sound.
What does it work well on?
Marks that stay in the same place for the whole clip: a channel or app logo in a corner, a camcorder date stamp, a burned-in caption line, a station name, a phone notification banner in a screen recording. It works best when the area behind the mark is fairly simple, such as sky, a wall, a floor or a soft background.
Where does it not work well?
Marks that move, and busy backgrounds that change a lot behind the mark. Each frame is filled on its own, so on a detailed moving background the filled area can shimmer from frame to frame. Large boxes over faces or detailed objects will look painted in. Press Preview frame on a few moments to judge before processing the whole clip.
Can I use this as a watermark remover for other people's videos?
No. It is meant for your own footage: your old logo, your camera's date stamp, a caption you burned in by mistake. Removing a watermark from someone else's video to reuse it usually breaks copyright law and the platform's rules, whatever tool is used, and stock footage previews stay licensed until you buy them.
Is the video uploaded?
No. Your browser decodes the video, the MI-GAN model fills each frame in this tab and the browser encodes the new video. The model is a one-time 28 MB download from Hugging Face, cached for later runs.
What are the limits?
Up to 30 seconds per run, at up to 1920 pixels on the long side and 30 frames per second. Set a start and end to choose which 30 seconds; for a longer video, run it again for the next part. Every frame is filled on the CPU and takes around a second on a recent laptop, so a 30-second clip takes several minutes. Keep the tab open while it runs.
Which model does it use?
MI-GAN, an image inpainting model released under the MIT license, run with ONNX Runtime Web. The Reelary desktop app uses the same model in its editor.
